Why Volunteer With Us?
Talking Shop is a community volunteer project in Sandford-on-Thames, just next door to Littlemore, Rosehill & Kennington and a short bus or cycle ride from Oxford city centre. We set up to provide a much-needed community hub for our area and through our volunteer teams we offer valuable opportunities for people to develop skills, confidence, experience and to make new friends.
In normal times our volunteers run a number of different activities and community services and we run a community café and shop in our space through the week. At the moment our teams are working with our managers to bring the community shop through the week and on Saturdays. We're hoping we'll have our kitchen up and running soon too, so please get in touch if you love to cook too.
We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and levels of experience (including none!). We support our volunteers to work at their own pace and to develop experience and confidence through their time at Talking Shop. Volunteering with us is a great opportunity to learn new skills, get work experience or a reference, to meet new people and to make a real difference in the community.
