We ran a Community Share Offer in 2015/ 2016. It was a great success: we generated over £27,000. It closed in July 2016 but you can still become a shareholding member.
More about the Organisation
Sandford Talking Shop Ltd. is a Community Benefit Society. This means it is a membership organisation, owned and run by its members. Anyone (individual 16 years+, group or business) that agrees with Talking Shop's aims can apply to become a member. You don't have to be based in the area we cover.
The Society is organised and promoted by a board drawn from the membership. Board members will be elected annually at the AGM.
The importance of membership
Communities and volunteers who support each other, build friendships and break down barriers can transform lives. Now that we have our own space we can do so much more of this. The more people who are involved and who have a say as members, the better we will be able to understand and meet our communities’ challenges.
Annual membership Shareholder £10 (renewable yearly)
The more local voices we have in our membership the better the Talking Shop project will be.
Better understanding of local issues, better ideas, better solutions, better and stronger community....
Just £10 makes you a voting, shareholding member for a year.

The Annual Membership fee includes £1 share in Society and £9 first year’s annual subscription (gives membership to end November the following year). Any addition is considered a one off donation.
Active volunteers are exempt from the annual subscription. They can become members for just the cost of the share (£1).
Only one share is issued per member regardless of amount paid over £1. The minimum shareholding of £1 will not be refunded where a member withdraws (the cost of administering the refund would exceed the £1 value of the share).
Annual membership bought gives membership from 1 Dec to 30th November. It is renewable annually on 1st December unless a minimum share holding of share issues through the investment offer (closed in July 2016) are held.
